Nick Ramirez checks in about his win today… “Won the Illinois state championship road race. Lots of good riders. Broke away at mile 6, three riders Bridged, we dropped one. Three stayed off the front the rest of the race. Last climb a rider attacked I got on his wheel. Took the sprint for the sSate Champions jersey! Go roadhouse. Another 4 hours OTF today. 90 miles of Hot hot heat!”

In a quick text,

“I was 10th last night in the first stage of the Tour of Galena. It was a hell bender, hilly circut race with 2 climbs over 15% grade. I was 6th this morn in the TT. Currently sitting 9th overall. The road race is at 3:30pm and is an extremely hilly 90 miles.”

Good luck to Nick in the Road Race today and Crit tomorrow. If you are around Galena, IL, stop by and wish Nick well.

Big Weekend of Racing!

The Texas Roadhouse Cycling team will be in full force for one of the nations top weekend racing series.  Western Iowa and Eastern Illinois play host to four great races known as Quad Cities.  First up is the Burlington Road Race (Friday), followed by the coveted Snake Alley Crit.  Sunday the team moves onto the Mellon City Crit and finally on Memorial Day, the always fast Quad Cities Crit.  Good luck to the boys!

RJ Stuart was able to notch another Texas Roadhouse Cycling podium today with a strong 2nd place finish in Urbana, IL at the Urbana Grand Prix. The race was a 1K course with 8 turns just outside of Lincoln Square in downtown Urbana.

Congratulations to RJ Stuart on his win in Tour de Champaign Crit today. Nick Ramirez complete the podium with a solid third.

RJ’s win adds to the Chad Burdzilauskas victory from Manhattan, KS (Curtis Tolson finished 2nd) as well as the 1-2 finish by Marian University and Texas Roadhouse racers Colton Barrett and Adam Leibovitz in the D1 collegiate National Championships held in Ogden, Utah. Colton Barrett is your D1 2013 Collegiate National Criterium Champion!
